A Note From Simone
As Founder/CEO of Don’t Get Mad Get Paid, I am excited to build and grow this company. Every day I get up with the most exciting job ever – and that is to build a company that has such a profound impact on the people that we touch. For more than 20 years, I was a private consultant working with women on one-off contracts navigating them through their complicated process of child support recovery. Today, I am leading a team.
It is an exciting process to find and hire people who share your mission and who are just as excited to join your team as you are to have them be a part of it. My team helps me to drive the mission and the values of the company, and we incorporate them into everything that we do. We walk our talk.
If you are wondering who this team is that I have brought together turning a “me” into a “we” and an “I” into an “our,” I thought it would be great to pull the curtain back a bit and have you to meet the team of people who make up Don’t Get Mad Get Paid through our Center Stage blog series.
Each week we will feature a different team member by having them answer a set of questions so that you can get a better sense of who we are as a high-growth tech company. After all, one of our favorite company values is transparency.
This week, we are meeting Zura Martino.
What’s your role at Don’t Get Mad Get Paid?
My role with Don’t Get Mad Get Paid is a Brand Ambassador.
What attracted you to the company Don’t Get Mad Get Paid?
What attracted me to this company was what it could offer me. Once I learned that the company could help me collect my back child support, I thought, OH YES, this is for me. It didn’t hurt that I reached out to the CEO, and I had the opportunity to talk to her on several occasions. I knew after that encounter that I would most definitely get the help I needed.
What impact do you have that you are most excited about?
The impact that I have with DGMGP is, I am a great example of what the company can do for other moms who are in the same situation I was. I collected the unpaid child support that my son was owed. The mere fact that I wasn’t able to get help through the state where we reside but with the company DGMGP is amazing. With the team’s expertise, my son was able to start getting the money he was owed. I no longer had to work two jobs to make sure he played in AAU basketball or pay for braces or any other activity my son had. Had we not gotten the child support, we would still be having a rough time.
What makes you most excited to be apart of the team right now?
What makes me most excited about being a part of DGMGP is that I get to tell MY story to others and that Don’t Get Mad Get Paid is on our side. I get to be surrounded by people who understand what it’s like to be in my shoes, and I don’t get judged. I get hand claps and hugs and encouragement. It is an honor and privilege to be amongst a wonderful company.
If you could instantaneously pick up a new skill, what would you choose and why?
If I could do anything right now, I mean right now, I would want to be more involved in Child Support Enforcement. I want to travel to every state to make sure everyone is doing their job. The world would be a better place if we didn’t have so many people in it who forgot about their children.
